Located between Vancouver and Whistler on the Sea-to-Sky Highway in beautiful Squamish, British Columbia, Travel Learn English in association with CISS at Quest U is the perfect choice for teenagers looking for ESL, adventure and fun on Canada's West Coast. Students come to Quest to both improve their English language skills through ESL study and to take advantage of the numerous opportunities for hiking, sports, city and nature exploration and other adventure pursuits. Join us and other international students this summer at our newest Canadian summer programme for an experience unlike any other, and the opportunity to impress yourself with the beauty of Canada's mountains, rivers, lakes, oceans and fabulous cities.

The Quest U programme is divided into two parts: Language Learning and City and Nature exploration

A typical day (Monday to Wednesday) is divided into a  morning language session and 3 scheduled afternoon activity periods.
These afternoons activity periods are scheduled for on-campus sports or art activities, providing a well-rounded camp programme.

You also receive one full-day excursion and one half-day excursion per week, as well as a nature experience each Sunday as part of your package.

Our ESL classes include:

  • 15 hours of ESL weekly
  • Professional and qualified teachers
  • Small classes – 15 students max

Evening Programme

The evening programme is an opportunity for students and staff to have fun together. Activities may include:

Our activities are as varied as our campers. Whether you like sports such as soccer, tennis, or archery or you prefer the artistic expression of dance or drama, we’ve got a wide selection of activities to choose from each week.  Three days per week are reserved for three one-hour activity periods.  You select 3 new activities each week you are at the programme, allowing you to truly learn and improve your skills.

This programme is designed to showcase the best that the Vancouver Coast Region has to offer.  Included is one full day and one half day excursion per week, as well as a chance on Sundays to explore the beautiful nature surrounding the campus through nature and mountain hikes and lake swims.

The Quest U Programme operates from the beautiful and ultra-modern Quest University. The extensive campus grounds include newly-built facilities, spacious and modern, geo-thermally air-conditioned classrooms, an athletic and recreational centre including a full-size gymnasium, and condo-style residence accommodations. Well maintained, all facilities are located in a clean, safe, natural environment.

Our camp has:

  • Library with open-use computers and internet (first-come basis)
  • Common rooms and lounges with access to TV, music and vending machines

Accomodation and Meals:

At Quest, you live in the school residence in a two-bedroom condo.  Each bedroom contains two beds, and has its own 3-piece washroom.  We try to ensure your roommate is a student of a similar age but different nationality. A staff member lives on the floor with the campers. Meals are eaten in the dining hall, which includes a full-service cafeteria and choice of meal options.  Our meals are cooked on-site by professional staff and meet solid nutritious standards.

  • Each condo unit has two bedrooms, two 3-piece bathrooms, a common space and kitchenette.
  • Additional common rooms for student use are located in each residence
  • Bathrooms in the units consist of a bathtub with shower, sink and toilet.  Two students share each bathroom.
  • Boys and girls are accommodated separately and placed according to age
  • Three meals are served daily

Q. What is included in the programme price?
A. The following is included in each camper’s package price:

  • TLE Service
  • Residence accommodation in condo-style suite
  • Three meals daily
  • Supervision
  • Study materials
  • 15 hours of ESL instruction with certificate upon completion of course
  • 3 activity days weekly (3 periods each)
  • Full day excursions (1 per week)
  • Half day excursions (1 per week)
  • Nature Sundays
  • Sheets, blankets, and pillows (students must supply own towels)
  • Linen change once weekly

International students also have included:

  • Vancouver airport meet & greet plus transfers to/from camp
  • Medical insurance

Q: Does my child need a visa to enter Canada or to attend this programme?
A: Students who come for a summer programme (or any programme with a duration of less than six months) do not require a Study Permit.

Q. Do I need to purchase out-of-country emergency travel medical insurance for my child?
A.CISS provides emergency medical and dental insurance to a maximum of $100,000 CAD for international campers attending a CISS summer programme. 

Q. Who will receive my child when he/she arrives at the airport?
A. TLE will accompany your child to Quest U - and then back to Taiwan again.Staff from QuestU Language Programme will meet us in the arrivals area at the airport. Students remain together with the group leader. The group leader assists the students to find the programme staff member. 

Q. How will I know that my child has arrived safely at camp?
A. CISS maintains regular contact with the TLE Representative, and will immediately inform the Representative of any concerns.

Q. What happens if my child has a medical emergency?
A. Our staff is trained to handle all medical emergencies. The Quest U programme hires a health-care provider who is on site.  The camp is also in close proximity to hospitals and clinics. CISS will inform your TLE representative of any emergencies that arise and the details/treatments involved.
